No information on grandparents. Never married, no children. Entered VMI- Aug 21, 1855; Resigned Nov. 30, 1855 due to excess demerits & neglect of duty. Career- Carpenter. Civil War Service- Enlisted Apr. 16, 1861 as Private Co. A 19th Va. Regt. Promoted to 3rd Lt. in 1862 or 1863. Elected 2nd Lt. April 12, 1863. Captured at Gettysburg, July 3, 1863. Held briefly at Ft. McHenry, Md. and Ft. Delaware, De. Sent to Johnson's Island, Oh. Died- In prison at Johnson's Island Feb. 3, 1864 from pneumonia. Buried there in grave 151.|
