Biography & Genealogy:	Green Charles Jones, Class of 1859 (graduated 13th out of 25): Born- August 3, 1839. Matriculated from Falmouth, Va. At VMI 3 years. To New Orleans, La but returned to Va in 1861. Military Record: Organized and, on April 23, 1861, elected Captain, Company A, 47th Va (Date of rank April 16). Wounded in action at Gaine's Mill, Chancellorsville, Weldon Railroad. To Maj December 19, 1864. Paroled Ashland April 29, 1865. In 1862 his regimental commander called him "a most gallant and efficient officer." Post War Career: Merchant; farmer in Dallas, TX. Died- September 7, 1909. Buried: Greenwood Cemetery, Dallas,
