Career: Teacher and Principal, Powhatan High School, 1927-1940. United States Army Reserve and Regular Army. World War II and Korean War veteran. Awarded the Silver Star, 3 Bronze Stars with V for Valor, and the Purple Heart, all of which are on display in the VMI museum. Retired 1959. Died: October 25, 1987 in Richmond, VA hospital. Burial, Powhatan Community Cemetery.
