Married- Mary Elizabeth Collins, daughter of Willis Collins and Martha Falls Wills. Children- William Alfred Smith Talley and Virginia Quarles Talley. Entered VMI- Aug. 27, 1867 as 3rd Classman (Sophomore); Graduated July 4, 1870 standing 33 in a class of 52 Careers- Prof. at North Carolina Military Academy; Surveyor; Farmer. Died- Oct. 15, 1910.
