VMI Record: Entered VMI on 11 November 1839, from Salem, VA and graduated 4 July 1842, standing 9th out of 16 graduates. Military record: Mexican War, Assistant Surgeon, 2nd Artillery, Gen. Worth's Division; 6th Infantry, Medical Director. Career: teacher, doctor, soldier; graduate Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA, 1846. Died October 30, 1853 at Benicia Barracks, California, while serving in the Army; buried in the family plot at East Hill Cemetery, Salem, Virginia. He was the brother of Madison P. Deyerle, VMI Class of 1860.|
