At VMI 3 years. Military Record: To Richmond with Corps April 1861. Commissioned Adjutant, 3rd Arkansas May 30, 1861. Appointed 1st Lt, Company K, 3rd Arkansas July 15, 1861. Assigned as Ordnance Officer to staff of Brig Gen H.R. Jackson October 4, 1861. Ordnance Officer at Monterey November-December 1861. In December 1861 ordered to report to government of Virginia and sent back to VMI faculty where he taught foreign language and rhetoric until his death. Fought at New Market on staff of Col. Scott Ship. Post War Career: VMI faculty. Died- November 26, 1904.|
