Biography & Genealogy:	Benjamin Harrison May, Class of 1860: Born- February 17, 1839. Matriculated from Petersburg, Va. At VMI 2 days (shortest antebellum cadetship). Military Record: Enlisted April 19, 1861 at Petersburg for 1 year as Private, Company A, 12th Virginia. To color sergeant April 12, 1864. Mortally wounded in action May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House. Died- May 16, 1864 in field hospital. Buried in the field.
