|Biography & Genealogy:||Stockton Heth, Class of 1860: Born- April 5, 1839. Matriculated from Brandy Station, Va. At VMI 2 years. Helped organize Culpeper Riflemen. Military Record: Entered service April 17, 1861 as Captain of that company which became Company E, 13th Va. Absent sick August-September 1861. Company disbanded November 8, 1861. Appointed 1st Lt February 13, 1862 (date of rank January 23). Assigned as Aide-de-camp on staff of his brother Brig Gen (later Maj Gen) H. Heth. Served with him rest of war. (Some records refer to him as Captain, Assistant Adjutant General, but it is unlikely he held that grade as staff officer.) Wounded in action August 25, 1864 at Reams' Station. Paroled April 9, 1865 as Lt, Aide-de-Camp. Post War Career: Married Isabella Norwood Hammet (1867). Democrat. Farmer. Died- March 15, 1917 in Roanoke.|
