Enlisted May 2, 1861 at Waynesboro for 1 year in Company E, 1st Virginia Cavalry. Became 2nd Lt. July 4, 1861. Tendered resignation August 11, 1861 (unofficial source says for ill health). Absent on the Sept-Oct 1861 roll. No further records found. Post War Career: Farmer. Married Amelia Frances Briscoe in 1864. Died: April 19, 1911 in Waynesboro, Va.
