|Biography & Genealogy:||Henry Hasseltine Fauntleroy, Class of 1860. Genealogy: Born- Sep. 13, 1837 at Naylor's, Richmond County, VA. Parents: Dr. Henry Fauntleroy and Annette Lorelle Sisson. Paternal grandparents: Robert Fauntleroy and Salle Ball. VMI Record: Matriculated from Warren, VA in 1857 (entered VMI as a sophomore); graduated in July 1860, standing 30th out of 41. Military Record: unofficial source says he was the Drillmaster for brigade of Brigadier General W. Mahone (VMI Class of 1847); same source says he was an engineer and left sick at Norfolk when Confederates evacuated the city; reported to have escaped to Eastern Shore and been with militia there as Lieutenant Colonel and brigade inspector; no official record found. Career: teacher (Principal of Craddockville Military Academy, 1860-1861); manufacturer (Fauntleroy Elevator Co., Baltimore, MD). Marriage: 1. to Catharine Alberta Reid of Norfolk, VA (d. 1898). Issue: William Reid Fauntleroy; Harry Wright Fauntleroy; daughter (name unknown; married Byrd Eichelberger). 2. to Maria Effinger of Lexington, VA., no issue. Died: March 11, 1914 in Baltimore, Maryland.|
