Biography & Genealogy:Thomas A. Hatcher, Class of 1858: Born- (?) Matriculated from Oakley, Va. At VMI 1 year, 7 months. Left VMI because of bad health. Military Record: Elected 2nd Lt of local volunteer company February 1861. Entered service with company May 12, 1861 at Lombardy Grove for 1 year. Company became Company F, 14th Va. Not re-elected at re-organization May 1862. On August 17, 1862 elected 3rd Lt, Company A. To 2nd Lt October 29, 1862. Wounded in action and captured at Gettysburg. In General Hospital (US), Chester, Pa. Held at Johnson's Island, Oh and Point Lookout, Md until end of war. Post War Career: Lived in Petersburg, Memphis, Tn and Forrest City, Ar. Bookkeeper; merchant. Died- December 14, 1891. Buried in Okalona, Ms.
