Grandmother- Sarah Embra Read of Farmville, Va. Married- Marcia Pleasants Scott, daughter of Dr. John W. Scott of Gordonsville, Va. on May 20, 1922. Children- George William White Jr. VMI Record: Entered VMI- Sept. 9, 1912; Graduated sometime in 1917. He was detailed with the Va. National Guard in Texas in active service and missed much of his 1st Class (Senior) work, but was later determined to be a graduate by the VMI Board of Visitors before he received his commission in the U.S. Army. Military Record: Captain in the U.S. Army Infantry; American Expeditionary Forces in World War I.; 1st Lieut. in the U.S. Army in 1921. Careers: Attended the Law School of Washington and Lee University in 1928; practiced law in Lexington, Va. Died- Feb. 9, 1951 in a room at the Hotel Woodrow Wilson in Staunton, Va. (natural causes); buried in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington, Va.
