Gray on Dec. 3, 1918. Children- 1- Lucielle Lafferty; 2- Dorothy Ann Lafferty; 3- Frederick R. Lafferty, Jr. VMI Record: Entered VMI- Sept. 3, 1913; Resigned Sept. 8, 1916 to enter Army; Received War Diploma June 15, 1917. Military Record: Captain of 5th Cavalry, at Fort Bliss and Lajitas, TX during World War I; Became rated pilot in the Air Service and commanded Nichols Field in the Philippines in 1920; served with the 11th Cavalry, then as squadron Commander for the 12th Cavalry and was advisor to the New Mexico National Guard; Commanded training installations in Louisiana and served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II; after the war he was transferred to the U.S. Air Force and served as Deputy Air Provost Marshall; his final assignment was with the Strategic Air Command at Biggs Air Force Base.
