VMI Record: Entered VMI- March 5, 1861; Left after four months to join the C.S.A. Military Record: Left on guard duty at VMI when the Corps of Cadets were sent to Richmond, Va. on April 21, 1861; Enlisted in the Confederate Army March 6, 1862 as Corporal in the 5th Co. of Washington Louisiana Artillery of New Orleans; commended for manning an abandoned gun at Stones River and for trying to rally a North Carolina Regiment to support battery at Missionary Ridge where he was slightly wounded in action; Absent, sick much of 1864-65. Careers: Farmer. Died- Feb. 13, 1935 in Fordache, La.|
