Biography & Genealogy:	Peter McEnery, Class of 1857: Born- January 5, 1835. Matriculated from Petersburg, Va. At VMI 2 years. Military Record: Enlisted April 19, 1861 at Petersburg in Company A, 12th Va. To 1st Sergeant. Elected 2nd Lieutenant May 10, 1861. Not re-elected at reorganization and dropped May 1, 1862. Enlisted January, 13 1864 at Hamilton, North Carolina as Private, Capt E. Graham's Company Virginia Horse Artillery (Petersburg Artillery; Capt J.N. Nicholas's Company) (bounty). Extant rolls show as either Present For Duty or detached as guard by Brigadier Gen J. Dearing. Post War Career: Tobacconist. Died- June 19, 1881 in Petersburg, Va. Buried in Blandford Cemetery there.
