Grandmother- Lucy Coleman. Mat. Grandfather- Charles Harper; Mat. Grandmother- Lucy Smithers. Married- Malinda Darling Maulsby, daughter of Judge Maulsby of New Madrid, Mo. Children- Robert C. Price (there were other children, but Mr. R.C. Price was the only one living as of 1910 when this information was given. No names of the other children were mentioned). Entered VMI- July 21, 1851; Dismissed April 27, 1853 for refusing to obey the Superintendent's orders. Graduated in medicine from Jefferson Medical College in Phil., Pa. He also attended the University of Virginia at one time. Civil War Service- Lt. Col. and Aide-de-Camp of staff of 1st Division Missouri State Guard in 1861; Surgeon for 4th Mo. State Guard in late 1861- 1862; Surgeon 9th Arkansas Reg. in 1863; Surrendered with troops in NC. Post War Career- Practiced medicine at Madrid, Mo. until his death. Died- June 9, 1874. |
