Careers: Commandant and Professor of French in the North Carolina Military Academy; Started am all male school in Lynchburg in 1860. Civil War Record: Helped train troops in Raleigh, NC; Appointed Captain of Co. A 6th NC Regiment May 24, 1861; Ekected Col of 15th NC Regiment June 24, 1861; Assigned to command at Ship Point Oct, 1861; On furlough Jan. 1862; Killed in action while entrenched at the head of Warwick River at Lee's Farm near Yorktown, Va.
