Twice cited for "meritorious and courageous conduct in battle," by both Division Commander and Commander-in-Chief. Decorated by French by appointment as a "Grenadier, Regiment de Zuzey." Later awarded Distinguished Service Cross.

The database currently includes the names of all enrolled students (both graduates and non-graduates) from VMI's opening in 1839 through the World War II era.
