Howell; 1st child- William Eliason, 2nd- Mary Eliason; 3rd- Roberta Eliason; 4th- Christine Eliason; 5th- Josephine Eliason; 6th- Roxana Eliason; 7th- Robert Eliason. Matriculated to VMI from Alexandria, VA. At VMI 3 years. Military Record: entered North Carolina state service in Iredall County, North Carolina on Apr. 18, 1861 as a 1st Lieutenant, Company A, 4th North Carolina; entered Confederate service on June 28, 1861; appointed Captain, Assistant Quartermaster, 7th North Carolina on Jan. 28, 1862; elected Major in the 11th North Carolina on March 31, 1862, but he declined the position; elected Lieutenant Colonel in the 49th North Carolina on Apr. 12, 1862; absent due to illness in May, 1862; resigned June 19, 1862 because of poor health; paroled as Captain, Assistant Quartermaster in Greensboro, North Carolina on May 11, 1865. Post War Career: Mayor of Statesville, North Carolina 1882-83; also worked as a civil engineer. Died- Feb. 19, 1902 in Statesville, North Carolina.
