Father- Dr. Theophilus Strachan of Petersburg, Va.; Mother- Jane Henry Stratton of Chesterfield Co. Va. Pat. Grandfather- Dr. Alexander Strachan of Edenburg, Scotland; Pat. Grandmother- Ann Feild of Chesterfield Co. Va. No information on Mat. Grandparents. Married- 1st- Virginia Gee daughter of Theron Gee in 1860; 2nd- Mary A. Gee Ruffin (sister of previous wife and widow of Mr. Ruffin); 3rd- Minnie Ruffin, daughter of Frank Ruffin, possibly the sister-in-law of Mary A.G. Ruffin. Children- 1- Joseph Blackwood Strachan (from 1st marriage); 2- Jane Henry Strachan (from 2nd marriage); 3- Waverly Blackwood Strachan (from 3rd marriage); 4- Harriet Josephine Strachan; 5- Minnie Reid Strachan.
