Father: Trevanion Barlow Dallas (Captain in the Confederate Army, & later Treasurer of Nashville Cotton Mills); Mother: Ella Douglas (died 1873). Marriage: On June 2, 1897 to Bessie Lindsley; one son- Hugh D. Dallas, Jr., born May 1900. Education & VMI Record: Received secondary education at the Emerson Institute in Washington, DC, which he attended for 5 years; enrolled at VMI on August 29, 1888 and resigned his cadetship on January 15, 1891; no reason given for resignation. Career: Cotton manufacturing business in Nashville, TN; report & order clerk at Nashville Cotton Mills; Asst. Manager Phoenix Cotton Mills and General Manager Dallas Manufacturing Co. Death: On October 6, 1901; survived by widow & son. His widow remarried Claude C. Christopher.

The database currently includes the names of all enrolled students (both graduates and non-graduates) from VMI's opening in 1839 through the World War II era.
