Children- 1- William Steenbergen (VMI Class of 1894); 2- Peter H. Steenbergen; 3- Mrs. Clyde Johnson (maiden name unknown) 4- Issac V. Steenbergen; 5- Charles L. Steenbergen; Dr. John H. Steenbergen. Entered VMI- July 6, 1846; Graduated July 4, 1849 standing 14 in a class of 24. Careers- Organizer & first president of the Mason Co. WVA Agricultural Association; Served as a member of the House of Delegates and served several times as a member of the Mason Co. Court; also worked on the farm on which he was born throughout his life. He did not serve in the Civil War as he lived in "enemy country" but was a Southern sympathizer. Died- April 8, 1916.|
