Children- Ann Randolph Tayloe, who married Mr. Hensley. VMI Record: Entered VMI- Aug. 1, 1849; Resigned in July, 1851. Civil War Record- Helped raise Cavalry Co. in Marengo Co., Ala.; Enlisted July 18, 1861 in Montgomery, Ala. as Captain of Co. E. of Jeff Davis' Legion Ms. Cavalry; Appointed Captain, Adjutant General Deptartment Aug. 1, 1862 on staff of Maj. Gen. D.H. Hill; Appointed Major at an unknown date; Resigned Nov. 19, 1862, but was mentioned as a secret and confindential agent for Maj. Gen. S.B. Buckner on Jun. 8, 1863; Appointed 1st Lieut. of 2nd Va. Cavalry June 9, 1864, but seems to have acted in that capacity earlier before official appointment; Also served as Acting Assistant Adjutant General for Col. T.T. Munford when he commanded Brig. Gen. W.C. Wickham's brigade after Wickham's resignation; In hospital with scabies Feb. 1865; Signed oath May 5, 1865 at Demopolism Ala. Moved to Birmingham, Ala. after the war.
