Biography & Genealogy:Humphrey Marshall Jr., Class of 1868: Born- April 10, 1848. Matriculated from Henry County, Kentucky. At VMI 2 weeks. Military Record: Ran away from home late 1862 and served with unknown unit until Wounded in Action at New Castle, Kentucky. Enlisted September 10, 1862 at New Castle, Kentucky as Private, Company I, 4th Kentucky Cavalry. Often detached as courier or orderly for his father, a CS Brigadier General. At VMI January 2-17, 1865. Left because of sickness. Soon rejoined regiment. In February or March 1865 appointed Cadet Reserve Army of Virginia from 10th Congressional District of Kentucky. Post War Career: Lawyer. Living in Springport, Kentucky in 1867. Died- Louisville, Kentucky in April 29, 1928.
