Biography & Genealogy:	Algernon Coleman Chalmers, Class of 1868: Born- Aug. 21, 1847. Matriculated from News Ferry, Va. At VMI 6 months. Military Record: With Corps in Richmond trenches until it disbanded on April 2, 1865. In hospital in Richmond in Sep. 1864, with rheumatism. Medical furlough for 60 days. Post War Career: Mercantile Representative. At Georgetown University 1865-1870. Alexandria. Brother of Chalmers, JW '63, and Chalmers, WM '67. Relative of CS Brigadier General R. Chalmers. Died- Oct. 15, 1918.

The database currently includes the names of all enrolled students (both graduates and non-graduates) from VMI's opening in 1839 through the World War II era.
