Biography & Genealogy:	Berryhill McLean Carter, Class of 1868: Born- Dec. 25, 1848. Matriculated from Frederick Co., Va. in September 1864; at VMI 6 months; resigned March 30, 1865, a few days before the Corps was disbanded in Richmond; with Corps in Richmond trenches. On list of POWs paroled in Winchester on April 19, 1865. Post War Career: Farmer, orchardist. Lived in Stephen's City, Va. Baptist. Brother of Carter, JP '64. Married Mary Gray Caldwell of Fredericksburg, VA; no children. Died- Aug. 28, 1932.
