Wimbish; 3- Lucy Townes Wimbish; 4- Nannie Barksdale Wimbish; 5- Clairborne Barksdale Wimbish; 6- Mary Emmet Wimbish; 7- Joseph Hopkins Wimbish; 8- Charlotte Rebecca Wimbish. VMI Record: Entered VMI- April 1, 1864; Left after two years (attended school only 9 months in two years); Made Honorary Graduate of the Class of 1867 on July 2, 1869. Military Record: Private in Co. C of the VMI Corps of Cadets during the Battle of New Market, May 15, 1864; served with Corps in the trenches in Richmond until it disbanded April 2, 1865; unofficial source says he then joined Confederate forces in NC; no official records found.
