Biography & Genealogy:	Van Epps George Carroll, Class of 1867: Born- c1845. Matriculated from Atlanta, Ga. At VMI 8 months. Military Record: Resigned from VMI April 6, 1864. Enlisted May 18, 1864 at Cassville, Ga as Pvt, 19th Tennessee. (Served in both companies A and E, but dates in each unknown). Wounded in action at Franklin (right thigh). Captured in hospital there December 18, 1864. In US hospital, Nashville, Tennessee until sent to Camp Chase, Ohio January 1865. Paroled and sent to City Point for exchange February 25, 1865. In hospital Richmond March 1865. No further record found. Post War Career: Lived in Atlanta, Ga post war. Died- November 6, 1872.
