Biography & Genealogy:	Thompson Norbone Field, Class of 1867: Born- c1844. Matriculated from Crimea, Va. At VMI 1 year, 4 months (repeated 5th year freshman year). Military Record: Enlisted August 21, 1863 at Fort Drewry for war as Private, Capt J.W. Drewry's Company Virginia Light Artillery (Southside Artillery). In February 1864 his battalion officers noted, "having been educated at the Military Institute, Lexington, Va he has sufficient military education and capacity to justify his promotion." On detached service at Ft Danztler fall 1864. Paroled at Appomattox. Post War Career: Farmer. Died- c1912 in Danville.
