|Biography & Genealogy:||Ralph Hylton Prosser, Class of 1867: Born- October 8, 1847. Matriculated from Woodville, Mississippi. At VMI 3 months. At VMI October 19, 1863-January 15, 1864. Enlisted September 13, 1864 in Fauquier COunty for war as Private, Company F, Col J.S. Mosbby's Regiment Virginia Cavalry (43rd Battalion Virginia Cavalry). Captured near Snickersville on 17th birthday (some records show Octobe 14). Dropped from rolls October 19, 1864 "for inefficiency." Held in DC and at Ft Warren, Massachusetts. Released on oath June 15, 1865. In prison hospital (DC) October 31-November 8, 1864 (fever). Post War Career: Clergyman. Episcopal. Died- July 31, 1923 in Alexandria, Louisiana.|
