Military Record: At VMI January 2, 1862-January 29, 1864. Enlisted April 15, 1864 at Fort Clifton for war as Private, Company B, 12th Battalion Virginia Light Artillery (Capt S.T. Martin's County) (bounty). In hospital (Farmville) much of 1864 (chronic diarrhea). Unofficial source says wounded in action near Petersburg. On undated list of POWs paroled at Farmville April 11-21, 1865. Post War Career: Lawyer. Commonwealth's Attorney, Burkeville. Died- May 18, 1893 Burkeville, Va. |
