Biography & Genealogy:	Silas Boxley Mason, Class of 1867: Born- October 13, 1847. Matriculated from Staunton, Va. At VMI 8 1/2 months over 2 years. Military Record: At VMI August 19, 1863 - February 1864, October 1864 - January 1865. With Corps in Richmond trenches until left to join army. Enlisted February 1865 at Staunton as Private, Capt J.H. Thompson's Company Virginia Light Artillery (Port Artillery). Paroled May 19, 1865 at Staunton. Post War Career: At Washington College 1869-70. Married Elizabeth M. Montgomery 1873. Railroad contractor; farmer; stock raiser. Died- Lewisburg, West Virginia March 10, 1911.
