Military Career: Probably the man who enlisted at Charles Town June 1, 1862 for 2 years as Private, Company B, 12th Va Cavalry. Captured June 7, 1862 in Buchanan County. Held at Camp Chase, Oh. Exchanged at Vicksburg, Ms September 1862. VMI man at Institute July 29-September 1863. Re-joined (or joined) 12th Va Cavalry. On June 7, 1864 captured in Clarke County. Held at Camp Chase, Oh as a "Guerella Bush Whacker Horse Thief." Released on oath June 10, 1865. 5'9", dark complexion, blue eyes, dark hair. Post War Career: farmer; salesman. Died- October 28, 1901 in a train accident in Tarboro, NC. Buried in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, WV.|
