Never married, no children. Matriculated to VMI from Saltville, VA. At VMI 1 year, 3 months. Military Record: Entered VMI Sep. 22, 1863; served as a Private with Company C, VMI Corps of Cadets, at the Battle of New Market; left VMI in December of 1864; unofficial source says he went to Logan County (West Virginia) to organize cavalry company but war ended before organization was completed. Post War Career: may have attended Emory and Henry; at the University of Virginia 1869-70. Died- June 27, 1870; posthumous brother-in-law of Crockett HS (VMI Class of 1867); middle name "Montreville" in some records. |
