|Biography & Genealogy:||MacPherson Berrien Eve, Class of 1867: Born- Aug. 13, 1846. Matriculated from Augusta, Georgia. At VMI 2 months. Military Record: unofficial source says he attended preparatory class at GMI, but ran off to army whenver possible; served as a Drillmaster at Ft. Johnson, North Carolina; on VMI rolls Aug. 4-Oct. 7, 1863 when dropped AWOL (may have been at the school only a few days); served on Major General H.C. Wayne's staff as Assistant Inspector General during the summer of 1864 in Georgia; unofficial source says he was promoted to Major (Georgia state forces); Wounded in Action at Kennesaw Mountain in June, 1864; requested authority Feb. 16, 1865 to raise a regiment from among captured Federals; unofficial source says he was the Lieutenant Colonel of a very "galvanized" unit by the end of the war; no official record of such service found (although if he held such a post, it was most likely in the Georgia state service). Post War Career: Planter. Died- June 28, 1886 in Liliandale, VA and buried in the Augusta, GA., city cemetery.|
