|Biography & Genealogy:||Marye Dabney, Class of 1867. Born- Nov. 11, 1846. Matriculated from Raymond, Mississippi. At VMI 5 months over 2 years. Military record: identification uncertain, but he may have been the Raymond, Mississippi man who served as Private, Company H, in Lieutenant Colonel L. M. Willis's Battalion of the Texas Cavalry (the cavalry unit of Col T. N. Waul's Texas Legion); the only record says he surrendered in Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865. Post War Career: clerk, lawyer, judge, public official; Democratic Republican from Hinds County in Mississippi House of Representatives 1876-78 and state constitutional convention in 1890; Episcopalian; Odd Fellow; Knight of Pythias; Elk; Mason. Died- Dec. 21, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois (some records say he was born in 1847).|
