Identification uncertain, but may have been the "Richard B. Whitehead" who on November 23, 1863 at Battery Number 4 enlisted for war as Pvt, Company A, 19th Va Heavy Artillery (Capt J.F. Chalmer's Company). Captured at Dutch gap November 4, 1864. US records show deserted (took the oath) November 7, 1864 and was released November 13 to go to Cleveland, Ohio. Post War Career: Merchant. Died- c1878 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
