Matriculated at the Virginia Military Institute August 1862 as a member of the Class of 1866; left VMI February 1863 and enlisted Company C, 2nd Virginia Cavalry Regiment; killed at Brandy Station, June 9, 1863; buried in Crockett-Kent graveyard near Shawsville, Virginia. Brother of Maurice D. Langhorne, Class of 1867.
