Grandfather- William Fristoe; Pat. Grandmother- Miss Botts. Mat. Grandfather- William Rudasill; Mat. Grandmother- unknown. Married: Julia Laub; 1st child- Luther Fristoe; 2nd- Mattie Fristoe (Rule). Matriculated to VMI from Woodville, VA. At VMI 3 years. Pre War Record: At the University of Virginia 1852-55; Professor at Columbian College (now George Washington University) in Washington, D.C.; Professor of Math and Astronomy, University of Missouri 1860-61. Military Record: Captain, Columbia (Missouri) Home Guards 1861-62; joined Confederate States forces on an unknown date; Acting Assistant Adjutant General with Major General S. Price's Missouri troops in September 1862; probably served in Colonel T.R. Freeman's Missouri Cavalry Regiment; appointed Colonel, Colonel E.T. Fristoe's Regiment of Missouri Cavalry (17th Missouri Cavalry) on July 5, 1864; surrendered as part of Army of the North Sub-district of Arkansas on May 11, 1865; paroled at Jacksonport, Arkansas on June 5, 1865.
