Enlisted at Camp Taylor on March 15, 1864, for 3 years as private, Capt. T. J. Richard's Co., Ms. Light Artillery (Madison Light Artillery; Capt. G Ward's Ms. Battery). Detailed to ordnance training Arpil-August 1864. Sep.-Oct. 1864, report shows present for duty. Unofficial source says paroled, Richmond, April 18, 1865. Post War Career: Merchant. Lived in Norfolk, Va., and Baltimore, Md. Brother of Chamberlaine, G. '53, and Chanberlaine, R. Jr. '63. Died- Oct. 14, 1878, in New Orleans, La. |
