Biography & Genealogy:	William Alexander Cabell, Class of 1866: Born- May 23, 1844. Matriculated from Clinton, Ms. At VMI 2 years. Military Record: Enlisted for war on Dec. 1, 1863, at Decatur, Al., as a Private, Co. D, 4th Ms. Cavalry. Absent sick spring 1864. Transferred Aug. 24, 1864, to Co. A, Maj. J. D. Bradford's (Ms.) Corps of Scouts and Guides (Bradford's Battalion). On roll of forces surrendered May 4, 1865, at Citronelle, Al. Paroled May 13, 1865 at Jackson, Ms. (Some records show he enlisted Nov. 1, 1863 at Raleigh, Ms.) Postwar Career: Cotton Planter. Unofficial source says he attended college in Ms. before entering VMI. Died- unknown.
