Biography & Genealogy:Vaughan Benjamin Boisseau Jr., Class of 1865: Born- December 12, 1844. Matriculated from Petersburg, Va. At VMI 1 year. Military Record: Unofficial source says worked in Commissary Department prior to September 5, 1863 when he enlisted at Amelia Court House for war as Private, Company G, 1st Va Cavalry. (Some records show September 15 in Petersburg). Slightly wounded in action near Mt Jackson fall 1864. In hospital (Richmond). Captured at Sayler's Creek. Held at Point Lookout, Maryland. Released on oath June 21, 1865. Said to have been "one of [Company] G's best troopers." Post War Career: Merchant; banker; public official. President, Petersburg School Board. Died- May 23, 1906 in Petersburg.
