Military Record: Enlisted at Richmond July 16, 1862 for 6 months as Private, Company B, 25th Virginia Battalion (Richmond City Battalion Local Defense Troops). Re-enlisted for war January 1, 1863. To Corporal. Appointed 1st Sergeant April 4, 1863. To 2nd Lieutenant August 10, 1863. In hospital (diarrhea) August 1864. January-February 1865 roll shows present in arrest. On undated list of POWs paroled at Farmville April 11-21, 1865. Post War Career: Farmer; stockraiser. Died- Rome, Georgia July 4, 1891. |
