Biography & Genealogy:Fairfax Catlett Minor, Class of 1865: Born- ca. 1845 in Loudoun Co. Leesburg, Va. Father- Col. John W. Minor; Mother- Louisa Catlett. Mat. Grandfather- Col. Charles Catlett. (No information on other grandparents). Married- [first name unknown] West, daughter of William West of Washington, D.C. (No information on whether or not they had children). Entered VMI- Feb. 14, 1862; Dismissed June 3, 1862 for neglect of duties and studies. Civil War Service- Enlisted Sept. 1, 1863 as Private in Co. A of 35th Va. Battalion C.S.A.; Deserted the Confederacy and pledged allegiance to the Union June 30, 1864. No information on his occupation was after the War, but he took up residence in Washington, D.C. Died- ca. 1890 in Fairfax, Co. Va. near Falls Church, Va.
