Biography & Genealogy:	Robert Hume Lewis, Class of 1865: Born- November 12, 1843. Matricualted from Jefferson County, (West Virginia). At VMI 5 months. Military Record: "Becoming dissatisfied I wrote home to my father to allow me to resign which he consented to do." Enlisted October 1, 1862 at Berryville for 3 years as Private, Company D, 6th Virginia Cavalry. In hospital late 1863. Detailed in 1865 as scout for Maj Gen F. Lee. Paroled at Winchester April 20, 1865. Post War Career: Farmer; contractor; insurance. Light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair. Died- December 12, 1921.
