Biography & Genealogy:	Hopkins Lewis Chisman, Class of 1865: Born- September 4, 1843. Matriculated from Mt. Clinton, Va. At VMI 2 years (entered sophomore year, repeated sophomore year). Military Record: Enlisted at Harrisonburg April 18, 1861 for 1 year as Private, Company H, 10th Va. To Sergeant. Discharged December 21, 1861 to attend VMI. Left school summer of 1863 and enlist in Augusta County August 12, 1863 as Private, Company B, 14th Va Cavalry. Paroled at Appomattox. Post War Career: 5'6", florid complexion, gray eyes, auburn hair. Farmer, stockraiser. Died- October 31, 1908 in Mt Clinton, Va.
