Grandmother- Lucy [maiden name unknown]. Married- Louisa A. Johnson, daughter of Alexander Johnson of Cumberland Co. Va. on Feb. 25, 1869. Children- 1- Clarence Duncan; 2- Lula Duncan; 3- Baby Duncan; 4- William Duncan; 5- Edna Duncan; 6- Marcie Duncan. Matriculated to VMI from Buckingham Mine (now Dillwyn), VA. At VMI 2 years, 5 months, entering on Feb. 15, 1862. Military Record: Served as a Sergeant at New Market with Company A, VMI Corps of Cadets; left VMI May or June, 1864; according to an unofficial source, he subsequently became an engineering officer and surrendered with Confederate forces in North Carolina; no additional official records found. Post War Career: Merchant. Died- Aug. 27, 1895 in Huntsville, Alabama.|
