Military Record: Enlisted July 23 in Frankliln County for 1 year as Pvt, Company D, 58th Va. To Commissary Sgt at unknown date. Court Martial ordered him to forgeit 1 month's pay. Transferred as Pvt to Company A, 13th Va May 30 (or 31) May 1862. By spring 1863 detailed as courier for Maj Gen (later Lt Gen) J.A. Early. On that duty until paroled April 1865 at Appomattox. Post War Career: Lawyer; banker. Admitted to bar 1871. Coomonwealth's attorney, Orange County 1881-94. Died- September 26, 1911 in Orange.|
