Military Record: Enlisted April 10, 1862 in Rappahannock County for 3 years as Pvt, Company A, 13th Va. Wounded in action at Gaines's Mill. Absent May-June 1862. Next extant report shows Present for duty November-december 1862. Unofficial source says wounded in ction at Gettysburg. Wounded in action May 10, 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House. Returned to duty July 18, 1864 and wounded in action (leg) at Third Winchester. In hospital (Charlottesville). Detailed as brigade courier early 1865. Post War Career: Madison County surveyor. Farmer; surveyor. Died- November 14, 1906.
