Detailed June 5, 1862 for hospital duty (perhaps because of a physical disability). MD, Medical College of Virginia. Appointed Assistant Surgeon, Confederate States Navy June 1, 1864. Served on Peedee near Georgetown, South Carolina. At Drewry's Bluff 1865. Captured April 3, 1865 at Richmond. Paroled April 20, 1865. Post War Career: To Henderson, North Carolina 1874.
